RGI Ltd. was founded in 1993 by Bob Fonow, an operations turnaround specialist, general manager and cross-cultural management consultant to corporations and governments worldwide.  Current activities include directing the operations of a new RGI subsidiary in Beijing, advising Swiss based Trivon AG on issues concerning a joint venture in Russia with Britain's Virgin Group, and consulting on business planning, marketing and sales for the first private data center in the West Bank city of Ramallah.

From 2006 - 2008 Bob Fonow  served as the U.S. State Department Senior IT and Telecommunications Advisor to the government of Iraq, advising the Minister of Communications,  Chairman of the Communications and Media Commission (national regulator), and National Chief Information Officer (CIO) Committee on reconstruction, operations, human capacity building and regulatory legislation. 

As an executive troubleshooter, Bob Fonow has conducted successful turnarounds as president, Sprint Japan; general manager, Scientific Atlanta Shanghai: president of SFA DataComm in the United States, managing director operations, Red Cube in Zurich; and as the General Sales Manager for an ITT division in London and Europe.

In addition, Mr. Fonow has managed projects or consults with companies such as British Telecom International, RAND Corporation, Sprint International, INFONET, Korea Telecom and DACOM Korea and telecom services companies in the Middle East. He negotiates worldwide with PTTs, private operators,government agencies, law firms, bankers and investors on regulatory, operations and partnership issues. He has been a business advisor to the United States Department of State on Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC)  and is a periodic Adjunct Research Fellow at the National Defense University, Center for Technology and National Security Policy consulting on the geopolitics and international relations of the Internet and telecommunications industry.

Mr. Fonow was educated at The London School of Economics (LSE) and the University of Wales. Prior to entering university, Fonow served in the United States Air Force in Japan, Italy and England.

Mr. Fonow speaks on cross-cultural strategy, operations turnarounds and problem solving at business seminars, universities and government institutions around the world.  He has published several monographs and numerous articles on international telecommunications and management troubleshooting which are available from a Google search of Bob Fonow and Robert Fonow.

He resides in Beijing and Northern Virginia.


Patrice Janoch
Managing Director
Accounting, Finance and Restructuring 

Patrice Janoch specializes in financial restructuring and strategic
planning in large corporate groups and technology manufacturing companies, including Federated Department Stores, US Shoe Corporation (owners of Lenscrafters and other specialty retailers), and Brookstone.  Patty also was corporate controller at high tech capital equipment manufacturer Somero Enterprises through two major financial restructurings. 

Patty’s experience includes IPOs, M&A, division mergers, secondary offerings and debt restructuring.  She has been involved also in large capital purchases, facility acquisitions and real estate development. 

Patrice Janoch  is a Certified Public Accountant with a  BS in Business Administration from the University of Dayton, Ohio.  She recently returned to international business after focusing on the adoption of two sons from China.   

She is based in eastern Pennsylvania, USA and is the lead consultant for US operations.


Karen Zhang
Director of Administration

Karen (Ling Ling) Zhang is Director of Administration for Revenue Growth Consulting (RGC), the Beijing based subsidiary of RGI Ltd.  Karen has eleven years of administrative experience, working in the technology, trading and real estate sectors in China.

Karen is experienced in all aspects of foreign business operations in China including company registration, banking, taxation and government relations.  She assists and advises RGI client companies on the complex daily operations of start up and mid-sized company administrative operations in China. 

Karen majored in International Business and English at Beijing Application Technical College. 
Karen is a native of Beijing and has spent a year studying in Australia.



Fang Min - "Echo", Project Manager

Fang Min, also known as "Echo", is RGI's Project Manager for Cross Culture Training Systems, based in Beijing. Echo has managed exchange programs for language schools, designed curricula for new schools, trained foreign and local staff at international companies and translated for business executives and charity groups. She recently developed Chinese language marketing and training materials for RGI's troubleshooting and consulting services in China and assisting with Japan and Asia business development.

Echo Fang Min was awarded a BA in English and Japanese from Beijing Foreign Studies University in 2007. In addition to being fluent in English and Japanese she is conversational in Spanish and fluent in two local Chinese dialects as well as Mandarin. Echo completed her Chinese language teaching certification at Beijing Language and Cultural University in 2008. In 2009-2010 Echo is completing a an MA in Anthropology at Durham University in England to enhance her understanding of cross cultural marketing and communications.
